Mobile Developer

We have a great opportunity for a Mobile Developer in our Orange County, CA office. Perfect for those who want to work in a creative, talented, and small-team environment.

Role summary:

The Mobile Developer's role will be to work as the architect in building the engines that run our games. Our goal is to reach as many platforms as possible using the same code, including phone, tablet, desktop and browser, which is why we've decided to utilize the Adobe AIR framework as our core development platform. The Mobile Developer will take direction from our team of directors, and must understand the limitations of mobile and tablet devices enough to implement an exemplary level of gameplay performance and optimization.

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

  • Implementing core functionality and software design from tech design docs.
  • Work with business, design, art and the production staff to drive the implementation of the project's technical vision.
  • Knowlegde of Actionsript 3.0/Adobe AIR, Unity, Java, and Objective-C.
  • Experience with agile development and project management methodologies (i.e. Scrum, XP).
  • Desire/ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teammates.
  • Passionate gamer and creative problem solver.

Requirements:

  • B.S.(or higher) degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the mobile games industry focused on programming and software development.
  • High proficiency with Actionscript 3.0 and object-oriented design and programming.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for independent game design.
  • Must be legally authorized or able to obtain legal authorization to work in the US.
